An RV at a park off US 290 or near the Pedernales River gets the full Hill Country summer. Average highs around Dripping Springs top 90 degrees from June through August. A dead air conditioner is the most common urgent call we get in that heat. Spring storms here bring hail and high wind, and both are hard on a roof and an awning.

RV parks around Dripping Springs rent full-hookup sites by the night or by the month. A few sit just off US 290 west of town, and some offer both 30-amp and 50-amp hookups. Full-time RVers live in the area's RV parks. Weekenders come out for the wineries and the state park up the road.
That state park is Pedernales Falls, about 13 miles northwest of town. Its 69 campsites with electricity have water and 30-amp hookups. RV electrical repair covers the RV side of the plug, such as the shore power cord and the converter. The pedestal and the site wiring belong to the park.
The city runs Dripping Springs Ranch Park, a 130-acre event center with RV spaces for rent. Its arenas host horse and agricultural competitions, and overnight guests may stay up to five days. On major show weekends, its RV spots close to recreation camping.
Ranch Road 12 runs from San Marcos north through Wimberley and into Dripping Springs. By that road, the town sits about 30 miles from San Marcos. Ranch Road 12 meets US 290 in town. From there, US 290 heads east toward Austin and west toward Johnson City.
Dripping Springs is growing fast. Census Bureau estimates put the city near 5,100 people in 2020 and near 10,200 in 2024. TxDOT is studying US 290 from Oak Hill to Dripping Springs for long-term safety and mobility.
A mobile service call means the RV stays parked and stays off US 290. The service call covers the diagnosis and the trip, and Dripping Springs sits inside our 50-mile radius. Our shop is in San Marcos if you would rather bring the RV in.
NOAA publishes 1991 to 2020 climate normals for a weather station six miles east of town. They put average highs above 90 degrees from June through August, and August averages about 95. A rooftop air conditioner runs hard through that heat. When it quits, RV AC repair covers the rooftop unit and its control board.
Spring storms bring hail. National Weather Service storm reports logged golf ball size hail in Dripping Springs in April 2023. A weather station north of town measured a 59 mph gust in May 2019. Wind that strong can tear an awning or bend its arms.
Texas Parks and Wildlife warns that flash flooding is common in the Texas Hill Country. In late May 2024, water over the road closed Mount Gainor Road at Onion Creek. Bell Springs Road closed at Barton Creek the same night.
Rain like that finds any open seam on a roof or a slide-out. Hail and summer sun both wear on an RV roof, too. RV roof repair covers resealing and leak repair, up to a full roof replacement.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
Josh was great. He answered all of my questions. He installed a new roof on my rv, it honestly looked brand new like it rolled off the factory line. He was fast and reliable! Definitely calling him back for an AC job next.
Josh helped me with my RV A/C repair in a pinch and was absolutely wonderful and professional. Without his help in replacing my A/C this summer would have been unbearable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Y’all! I cannot say enough amazing things about River Cities RV Service. Josh was absolutely incredible and got us out a tough situation with zero AC in July in Texas. He came to Lockhart State Park where we were staying and fixed us up.
