Kyle sits on I-35 just north of San Marcos, and it has grown fast. The Census Bureau counted 45,697 people in 2020 and estimates 69,917 for mid-2025. When the AC quits in August, an RV parked in a Kyle driveway or park site is hard to move. Mobile RV repair in Kyle brings the technician to the RV instead.
River Cities RV Service is based in San Marcos, and Kyle is part of our service area. We bring mobile RV repair to travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes and campers right where they sit. You can also bring the RV to our San Marcos shop. Call or text (512) 850-7257 to set up a service call.
Tell us about your RV, what is wrong and where it is parked. We diagnose the problem and put the repair quote in writing.
A few RV parks list a Kyle address. The Old El Camino, out on Camino Real (SH 21), rents full-hookup sites for short and long stays. The Buzz RV Village is a private community of 23 sites on monthly leases. The View RV Park on Goforth Road has six full-hookup sites, with monthly rates and long-term leases.
On a monthly site, the RV may be a full-time home. When its water heater or furnace quits, the fix has to happen on site. We come to the park and work on the RV where it is parked.
Kyle sits about 20 miles south of Austin on I-35, and two of those parks take short stays. If something breaks on the way through, we can meet you at your site. Trips out to Canyon Lake or Lockhart State Park stay inside our service area too.
From 2021 to 2022, the Census Bureau ranked Kyle the third fastest-growing large city in the country. Survey figures show about three in four homes are single-family houses. Nearly nine in ten homes were built in 2000 or later. If your RV waits beside the house between trips, the city's parking rules matter.
Kyle's city code keeps trailers and RVs off front and side yards in single-family zoning, with exceptions. A front-yard spot works when every wheel sits on a permanent parking area, such as concrete or pavers. A side yard works when a solid fence at least six feet tall screens it from the street.
On a residential street, an RV may stand only while it is being loaded or unloaded. The code also limits parking on a street to repair a vehicle. So in town, we set up in your driveway or side yard. Questions about your own lot go to the City of Kyle.
NOAA normals for San Marcos, just down I-35, show about 21 days a year at 100 degrees or more. August alone averages about 11 of them. Recent summers run hotter: that station logged 80 such days in 2023. An RV parked in full sun soaks up that heat all afternoon.
Summer heat makes a dead RV air conditioner our most common urgent call. On the hottest days, one rooftop AC maker's manual says to start the unit early in the morning. Our RV AC repair covers control boards and thermostats. When the rooftop unit itself is done, we replace it.
Winter is short, but it still freezes. The same normals count about 20 nights a year at 32 degrees or colder, mostly December to February. In the February 2021 storm, the weather service logged 5.9 inches of snow in Kyle.
A hard freeze can damage an RV water system that was never winterized. One water heater maker's manual says to drain the heater, or fill it with RV antifreeze, before winter storage. Our RV plumbing and water heater repair covers damaged lines and the water heater itself.
Spring storms bring hail here. NOAA storm records show quarter-size hail in Kyle in March 2025 and tennis-ball-size hail that May. After a hailstorm, the RV roof needs a check.
A travel trailer maker's manual says to cover any roof puncture or tear and repair it fast. Our RV roof repair covers leak repair and full roof replacement.
The state water agency lists Hays County among the counties where the Balcones Escarpment raises flash flood risk. Plum Creek runs through Kyle, and the Blanco River passes the west side of town. The weather service gauge on the Blanco near Kyle topped 35 feet four times from 1998 to 2015.
In the May 2015 flood, the Blanco overtopped I-35 in San Marcos and closed it both ways. Smaller storms flood local roads too. In October 2023, flash flooding covered low-water crossings south of Kyle, including Bunton Lane. If your RV sits near a creek or the river, watch the forecast and move it early.
For a flood or hail claim, our RV warranty and insurance repairs start with the diagnosis and the write-up. Once the claim is approved, we do the repair and you pay the deductible.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
Josh was great. He answered all of my questions. He installed a new roof on my rv, it honestly looked brand new like it rolled off the factory line. He was fast and reliable! Definitely calling him back for an AC job next.
Josh helped me with my RV A/C repair in a pinch and was absolutely wonderful and professional. Without his help in replacing my A/C this summer would have been unbearable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Y’all! I cannot say enough amazing things about River Cities RV Service. Josh was absolutely incredible and got us out a tough situation with zero AC in July in Texas. He came to Lockhart State Park where we were staying and fixed us up.
