Wind is hard on an open awning, and one gust can bend an arm or tear the fabric. A power awning can also stall when its motor or switch fails. We find the cause on the service call and put the repair quote in writing. Awning work is one part of our mobile RV repair in San Marcos and the towns around it.

It depends on which part failed. Torn or worn fabric can be replaced, and the new fabric goes on the same roller tube and arms. A bent arm can often be replaced on its own when the rest of the awning is sound.
RV awning replacement makes sense when the damage runs through the whole awning. A storm can bend the roller tube and both arms at once. At that point a new awning system is often the cleaner fix. We show you what failed and put each option in the written quote.
Storms here can bring strong wind. On October 24, 2022, the National Weather Service measured a 60 mph gust near San Marcos. Wind damage reports came in along the I-35 corridor that night.
Awning makers warn that wind and rain can do severe damage to the awning and to the RV itself. Their manuals say to roll the awning in when wind or long rain is on the way. They also say to retract it before you leave the RV for a while. One maker adds that no wind sensor can protect an awning from every severe storm.
Rain brings its own risk. One maker warns that water pooled on the fabric can bend the arms and the roller tube. Another notes that a running air conditioner can drain onto the awning and pool water there. If the storm also damaged the RV wall, our body specialist takes that on through RV body and collision repair.
A power awning opens and closes with an electric motor and a switch inside the RV. When it stops, the fault may sit in the motor, the switch, the wiring or the power supply. On a 12-volt awning, low battery voltage can also slow the motor down.
We test each part on the service call and fix the one that failed. When the trouble traces back to the RV's 12-volt system, the job becomes RV electrical repair.
RV awning installation puts a new awning system on the side of the RV. A new power awning also needs wiring and a switch inside. One maker's manual says a service technician must install the awning, and that is the work we do.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
