Wimberley sits where Cypress Creek meets the Blanco River, about 15 miles up RR 12 from San Marcos. RVs here sit in parks near the river and on private lots off the ranch roads. When the AC quits in August, moving the RV to a shop is a big job. A slide-out stuck open keeps it parked until the slide is fixed.
Wimberley is part of our service area. River Cities RV Service is based in San Marcos and brings mobile RV repair to your site. We work on travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes and campers right where they sit. Call or text (512) 850-7257 to set up the service call.
Tell us about your RV, what is wrong and where it is parked. We diagnose the problem and put the repair quote in writing.
Several RV parks and resorts are near the Blanco River and along RR 12. Some rent sites by the month, so an RV there may be someone's home for a season. We come to the site and work on the RV where it is parked.
Most people around Wimberley live outside the city limits. The 2020 Census counted 2,839 people in the city and 14,713 in the 78676 ZIP area. Woodcreek, just north of town, is inside that same ZIP. If your fifth wheel sits beside the house or the barn, we work on it there.
Visitors come for Blue Hole Regional Park on Cypress Creek. Jacob's Well, the artesian spring that feeds the creek, draws them too. The city's Blue Hole swim season runs May 1 through Labor Day. That is also the hot season, when a dead air conditioner can end a trip early.
RR 12 runs about 38 miles from SH 123 in San Marcos, up through Wimberley and Dripping Springs. RR 2325 leaves it in Wimberley and heads northwest into Blanco County. RR 3237 heads northeast from Wimberley for about 9 miles.
RR 32 meets RR 12 south of town and runs west to US 281 south of Blanco. We come up these roads to RV parks and private lots all around Wimberley. The drive is ours to make, so your RV stays put.
A slide-out that will not come in keeps an RV off these roads. Our RV slide-out repair covers motors, gears, cables and seals. We do the work at your site when the job allows it.
Summers here are long and hot. NOAA's climate normals for San Marcos count about 117 days a year at 90 degrees or hotter. August highs there average about 97 degrees. Our RV AC repair covers control boards and thermostats, and a new rooftop unit when the old one is done.
NOAA's Wimberley station averages about 37 inches of rain a year. May and October are the wettest months, and spring storms can bring hail. If your RV is parked under the cypress trees along the creek, high wind can drop limbs on the roof. After a storm, our RV roof repair covers seam sealing, leak repair, membrane patches and full roof replacement.
Winters are short, but they still freeze. The San Marcos normals show about 20 nights a year at 32 degrees or colder. A hard freeze can split a water line on an RV left hooked up. The furnace runs hard on those nights too.
The Blanco River at Wimberley reaches flood stage at 13 feet on the National Weather Service gauge. In May 2015 it crested at 44.9 feet, the highest crest on that gauge's record. The old high mark was 33.3 feet, set in May 1929.
The river also passed the 26-foot major flood mark in October 2013 and October 2015. When the Blanco runs high, it backs up into Cypress Creek. At 38 feet, the weather service says the bridge on RR 12 goes under.
After a flood, water can reach the floor, the wiring, the furnace and the water heater. If you carry RV insurance, our insurance claim repairs start with the diagnosis and the write-up for your insurer. You pay the deductible, and we do the repair once the claim is approved.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
Josh was great. He answered all of my questions. He installed a new roof on my rv, it honestly looked brand new like it rolled off the factory line. He was fast and reliable! Definitely calling him back for an AC job next.
Josh helped me with my RV A/C repair in a pinch and was absolutely wonderful and professional. Without his help in replacing my A/C this summer would have been unbearable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Y’all! I cannot say enough amazing things about River Cities RV Service. Josh was absolutely incredible and got us out a tough situation with zero AC in July in Texas. He came to Lockhart State Park where we were staying and fixed us up.
