Summer in New Braunfels runs long and hot. NOAA's normals for the New Braunfels weather station count about 117 days a year at 90 degrees or hotter. That sun bakes RV roofs at River Road campgrounds and at the RV parks along I-35. In these months, a dead rooftop air conditioner is the most common urgent call.
New Braunfels is part of our service area, about 18 miles down I-35 from San Marcos. With mobile RV repair in New Braunfels, River Cities RV Service comes to your RV and works on it there. It is the same service as our mobile RV repair in San Marcos, brought to your campsite or driveway. Call or text (512) 850-7257 to set up a service call.
Tell us about your RV, what is wrong and where it is parked. We diagnose the problem and put the repair quote in writing.
River Road runs north from New Braunfels along the Guadalupe River toward Canyon Lake. It crosses the river several times, and the crossings work as landmarks. Riverfront campgrounds line the road, like Camp Huaco Springs at the First Crossing. Rio Guadalupe Resort, also on River Road, sells monthly stays to Winter Texans.
Along I-35, travelers stop for a night, and some RVers rent sites by the month. Wherever the RV sits, we come to it and find the fault on site. We put the repair quote in writing and order parts when the job needs them. We work on travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes and campers.
Most of the city lies in Comal County, and part of it reaches into Guadalupe County. The city keeps growing, from 90,403 people at the 2020 Census to 122,492 in the Census Bureau's 2025 estimate. More than six in ten homes here were built in 2000 or later. If your RV is parked at home, we work on it in the driveway.
NOAA's normals put the average August high in New Braunfels near 95 degrees. September still averages about 19 days at 90 or hotter. An air conditioner maker's manual says to start the unit early in the morning on days like that. If it still falls behind, we diagnose the unit on the roof and handle RV AC repair at your site.
Spring is hail season, and in March 2022 NOAA's storm records logged 2-inch hail in New Braunfels. A hailstorm, or a limb down on a shady riverfront site, calls for a roof check before the next rain. If the roof is torn, a trailer maker's manual says to cover the tear until it is repaired. We check the seams and vents at the campsite, then do the RV roof repair it needs.
Damaging storm winds peak here in May and June. Awning makers say to roll yours up when wind or long rain is coming, and when you leave the RV. If an arm bends or the fabric tears, we take care of RV awning repair on site.
The Comal River starts at Comal Springs in Landa Park, the largest springs in Texas. It runs only a few miles before it joins the Guadalupe. Up the Guadalupe, Canyon Dam holds back floods and lets cold water out from the bottom of Canyon Lake. The city keeps lifeguards on its Tube Chute at Prince Solms Park from May to mid-August.
Comal County sits on the Balcones Escarpment, in what the state water agency calls Flash Flood Alley. In 2002, Canyon Lake went over its spillway for the first time, and the river still flooded downstream. If you camp by the river, watch the forecast and move the RV early. Once it sits on a dry site, call or text, and we go over what the water reached.
Winter Texans settle in on River Road for the season, and fly anglers fish the cold water below the dam. NOAA's normals for the New Braunfels station count about 32 nights a year at 32 degrees or colder. In a typical year, the first freeze comes around November 18 and the last around March 8. On those nights, the common call is a furnace that will not light.
We do RV furnace repair where the RV is parked, plus the propane lines and regulator that feed it. Cold also cuts the heat a propane tank delivers, so keep the tanks as full as you can.
In February 2021, a winter storm brought days of freezing rain and snow to Comal County. On a hard freeze, a trailer maker's manual says to open lower cabinet doors so warm air reaches the plumbing. If a freeze leaves a leak or no hot water, we find the cause and quote the fix.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
Josh was great. He answered all of my questions. He installed a new roof on my rv, it honestly looked brand new like it rolled off the factory line. He was fast and reliable! Definitely calling him back for an AC job next.
Josh helped me with my RV A/C repair in a pinch and was absolutely wonderful and professional. Without his help in replacing my A/C this summer would have been unbearable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Y’all! I cannot say enough amazing things about River Cities RV Service. Josh was absolutely incredible and got us out a tough situation with zero AC in July in Texas. He came to Lockhart State Park where we were staying and fixed us up.
