RV collision repair starts with a close look at the damage. A low branch or a tight turn at a fuel stop can crack fiberglass and tear a sidewall. At River Cities RV Service, our body specialist handles RV body repair. The work covers travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes and campers.
Bring the RV to our San Marcos shop, or we come to you for a look at the damage. The service call covers the diagnosis and the trip, and the quote for the repair goes in writing. An insurance claim often comes with collision damage. We take care of the insurance side of the repair too: the write-up and the submission to your insurer.
Tell us about your RV, what is wrong and where it is parked. We diagnose the problem and put the repair quote in writing.
Delamination is when the outer skin of an RV wall comes loose from the wood behind it. Many RV walls are built in layers: a fiberglass skin, thin plywood, foam insulation and the inside panel. The skin is glued to the plywood. When the glue lets go, the skin bubbles or ripples, and the wall can feel soft when you press it.
Water is the usual cause. Rain gets in through a cracked seal at a window or along the roof edge. The plywood soaks it up and swells, and the glue lets go. A crack or a torn seam from a collision can let water in the same way.
RV delamination repair depends on how far the water went. A small area with dry, sound wood can sometimes be glued back in place. A wet or rotted area needs the skin opened and the wood replaced. The leak has to be sealed too, or the skin can come loose again.
Weather service records for South Central Texas show spring as the busiest season for severe storms. Strong storms can hit in the fall too. An RV parked in the open at a campground takes the full force of the hail.
Hail can crack fiberglass and dent an aluminum skin. On the roof, it can split vent covers and punch through the membrane. A hole up top is RV roof repair work, and rain can reach the walls until it is fixed.
Wind does its own damage. It can tear an open awning and drive a branch into a sidewall. Bent arms and torn fabric are awning repair work, and a cracked wall is body work.
Once everyone is safe, take photos and video of the damage. The Texas Department of Insurance gives that advice after hail or wind damage. It also says to file a claim as soon as you can.
A crack or a hole lets rain into the wall, and wet wood can lead to delamination and rot. Cover the opening with a tarp or plastic sheeting to keep the rain out. Save the receipts, because the same advice says a policy may pay for temporary repairs.
Then call or text us at (512) 850-7257 to set up a look at the damage. We write up the damage and the repair for your claim and submit it to your insurer. If the RV cannot be repaired where it sits, a towing company can bring it to our San Marcos shop.

Josh replaced the a/c and heater control board in my travel trailer he did an awesome job I highly recommend him
We discovered just 4 days before our Thanksgiving trip that our RV slide-out wasn’t working. We contacted Josh, and he came out the very same day to diagnose the issue. He quickly ordered the necessary parts and managed to get everything repaired in time for our trip. Josh was professional, efficient, and highly communicative throughout the entire process, keeping us informed every step of the way. His pricing is very reasonable, and we truly appreciate the extra effort he put in to ensure we were able to leave on time. Highly recommend his RV repair services!
Josh and his team are amazing. He replaced my roof on my wildcat 5th wheel. And once it rained he returned twice to assess any leaks and concerns. He’s my repair guy now! Thank you Josh!!!!
